Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) is a biodegradable synthetic polymer with acceptable mechanical strength and well-controlled degradation rate. Small intestinal submucosa(SIS) is an acellular tissue and a naturally derived biomaterial isolated from the small intestine of pigs. Also, it has many growth factors to proliferate the cell activation. In this study, SIS/PLGA film was fabricated using 0, 20, 40, 60, and 80wt% of SIS by the solvent evaporation method. After seeding RPEs on SIS/PLGA films, we observed adhesion, proliferation rate, expressivity of RPE on 1, 2 and 3 day using by RT-PCR, SEM, MTT. The results showed that the 40wt% SIS/PLGA films had higher adhesion, proliferation rate, and expressivity than the other % of SIS. This information would contribute to design of other biomaterial/polymer hybrid films. This research was supported by WCU(R31-20029)and SCRC (SC4110). |
