Fabrication and Thermodynamic Property of Aerogel Insulation Film on Glass by Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and Silica Aerogel extracted from Rice Husk Ash (RHA). |

The Building window is affected by the demand for space heating energy. Aerogel is a suitable material to apply for insulation to save interior energy. However expensive precursor and drying process were the main issue of the silica aerogel synthesis. Hence, we attempt to fabricate aerogel insulation film on glass for energy saving, which silica aerogel was synthesized from RHA under ambient pressure condition generating economic benefit. Moreover, taguchi method is applied in determining the optimal reaction conditions drawing on the fewer experimental results than those required to study the effect of overall input variables. The silica aerogel is synthesized by sol-gel processing through acidic treatment and aging. The silica aerogel was obtained by modification of silica hydrogel surface and dry at ambient pressure. Finally, aerogel film was fabricated with PDMS by spin coating. The silica aerogel was characterized by SEM, BET and film were analyzed by Thermal conductivity. |
