제목 Electrochemical preparation and characterization of nano structured Ni-BN composite coatings
초록 Nickel matrix composite coatings were successfully prepared by the incorporation of boron nitride nano sheets by pulse electrodeposition technique. Electrodeposition was carried out by dispersing 20g/L of BN nano sheets into the sulfamate electrolytic bath. Variable pulse duty cycles were chosen to study the effect of pulse conditions on the nano sheet incorporation as well as properties of the composite coatings. The results demonstrated that the wear rate and the coefficients of friction of the composite coating were greatly improved. Vickers microhardness of the composite coatings was significantly increased at lower pulse duty cycles. Wear tracks have shown the abrasive-adhesive type of wearing phenomenon. XRD patterns of the composite has shown the mixed preferred orientations of the composite while the pure nickel has shown preferred (100) orientation. Nickel matrix grain size has been found to be decreased on decreasing pulse duty cycle and has reached to 15 nm.
