Receptor-mediated delivery of all-trans-retinoic acid (RA) to hepatocytes from RA-loaded PVLA micelle |

Poly-(N-p-vinylbenzyl-O-beta-D-galactopyranosyl-[1-4]-D-gluconamide) (PVLA) has the unique amphiphilic structural unit composed of polystyrene in the backbone as the hydrophobic part and oligosaccharide residue in the side chain as the hydrophilic one. In this studies, the PVLA had micelle-forming property and was used as hepatocyte-specific material due to the galactose ligands for asialoglycoprotein receptors (ASGPR) of hepatocytes. In this study, RA was loaded to PVLA micelle and its physical properties were studied. Also, gene regulation of cytochrome P450 by released RA from RA-loaded PVLA micelle was performed using hepatocyte having ASGPR and F9 cells without ASGPR. |
