Preparation of novel cross-linkable hole-transporting material by anionic polymerization and its application in OLEDs |

Our previous study on the anionic polymerization of 4,4'-vinylphenyl-N,N-bis(4-tert-butylphenyl)benzenamine (A) with K-Naph in THF at 78 °C showed the living character of A. From the synthetic point of view, the successful living anionic polymerization of A can provide the well-defined block copolymer containing poly(A) block by the sequential block copolymerization. Trimethyl(2-(4-vinylphenyl)ethynyl)silane (B) was chosen for sequential block copolymerization with A because it has been reported that the deprotection of the trimethylsilyl group from poly(B) by acidic treatment provides thermally cross-linkable ethynyl group. In this presentation, the synthesis of cross-linkable polymer, thermal cross-linking reaction, and application as HTL in multilayer OLEDs will be demonstrated. |
