Supercritical water has unique properties such as low density, low dielectric constant, and low inorganic solubility. Supercritical hydrothermal synthesis has been proposed for metal oxide particles due to its unique characteristics. In this study, titania particles have been continuously prepared using supercritical hydrothermal synthesis. Titania particles were also synthesized under subcritical water conditions to investigate the effect of synthetic condition. N2 adsorption, XRD, SEM, EDS, and UV-Visible spectroscopy were used to examine the synthesized titania particles. The photocatalytic activity of synthesized titania is discussed for the degradation of methyl orange under UV light. |
