The International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor Project (ITER Project) started in 1988. But the ITER Joint Implementation Agreement (ITER JIA) was signed in October 2007, almost 20 years later. The 7 participant members are China, European Union (EU), Japan, India, Korea, Russia and the USA. The ITER is under the construction at Cadarache, South of France. And all the Members are manufacturing their allocated procurement packages on time to meet the assembly and installation schedule. Korean industries are also manufacturing components that are allocated to Korea. But some procurement packages such as Tritium System and Deliver System (Tritium SDS) and Test Blanket Module (TBM) are still under the R&D stage. The ITER Korea Domestic Agency (KODA) is responsible for all the ITER related activities related in Korea. This paper will summarize the status of the ITER Project and the procurement activities or R&D activities. |
