Tween 20 was modified at the molar ratio of 1:1 with 7-chlorocarbonylmethoxycoumarin, which was synthesized from 7-hydroxycoumarin. And then, monoolein (MO) cubic phase containing coumarin modified tween 20 was prepared by a melt-hydration method. The hydrophobic part of tween 20 would insert into the monoolein membrane, and the hydrophilic part containing coumarin group would exist in the water channels of cubic phase. The release of 5(6)-Carboxyfluorescein from the cubic phase was somewhat suppressed after the cubic phase irradiated by the UV light at 254 nm for 3 hours, possibly due to the water channels of the cubic phase would be somewhat blocked by the photo-dimerization between the coumarin groups contained in the modified tween 20. |
