Improvement of the mechanical properties of the porous spherical BCP granules by PVA infiltration and UV crosslinking |
초록 |
Porous spherical BCP granules were fabricated by taking advantage of formation of spherical shape drop of a trickling liquid or slurry. Poly(ε-Caprolactone)(PCL) was a forming agent in this work. After that, these granules were burnt out to remove PCL and sintered at 1300℃ by microwave sintering. For overcoming the disadvantage of weak mechanical properties of porous BCP granules, it was coated by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) which is a kind of biodegradable polymer. Unfortunately, biodegradation rate of PVA is fast in the human body. So in this work, PVA was crosslinked by UV to decrease the biodegradation rate. The morphology as well as the characterization of granules with their microstructure and porosity was studied depending on PVA coating and UV crosslinking. The mechanical properties of porous spherical BCP granules were also evaluated. Furthermore, the cell viability and cell attachment of BCP granules were performed using MG-63 osteoblast like cells. |
