Various sizes and shapes of gold nanoparticles have been researched for imaging, vaccine delivery, and cancer therapy in biomedical application. In this study, we were interested in the fabrication of gold nanoparticles conjugated with nanogels since they can prohibit the aggregation of gold nanoparticles and provide a carrier for bioactive molecules. For experiments, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) have been used to fabricate nanogels with different diameters and incorporated with gold nanoparticles. The size of gold nanoparticles was controlled by the ratio of nanogels to gold nanoparticles and the surface chemistry. The size distribution was confirmed with dynamic light scattering (DLS) and the morphology was characterized by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). |
