Effect of UV Range Filtering on Accelerated a-Si:H Solar Cell Degradation |

Due to the severe early stage degradation nature after outdoor installation, many researches on a-Si:H solar cell are focused on long-term lifetime of this technology. Several works has been reported on the degradation characteristics of a-Si:H solar cell with relatively simple light soaking in the laboratory. Even though practical PV module at field is degraded under full spectrum irradiance from sun light, many previous researches have been carried out with UV spectrum light soaking. In this work, three different spectrum range has been tested with optical thin film filters which was “UV only”, “UV blocked” and “full spectrum”. Fig. 1 shows test structure with various UV range thin film filter. The degradation results under this configuration have been evaluated and detailed analysis has been done with diode ideality factor. In our presentation, the effects of UV range irradiance on a-Si:H solar cell and proper test setup for a-Si:H solar cell degradation will be discussed in detail. |
