Experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the physical optimal conditionsin the absorption column to remove odorous chemical. Odorous chemical is a highly undesired contaminant that is most commonly from enviromental treatment facilities. Plant solvent extravt from conifer trees were used to remove odorous chemical via checmial neutralization. The absorbed of plant extract achieved a removal efficiency of 62%.The results show that an aqueous aolution containing plant extract might be a good absorbent for the bilogical removal of odorous chemical. The essential oils, such as monoterpenes, are known to be secondary metabolites that play direct roles in the processes of photosynthesis, respiration, solute transport, and nutrient assimilation. The volatility of essential oils must be significantly less than that of ethanol to facilitate a separation in a solvent recovery evaporation. |
