Synthesis and Investigation of Ether free type Poly(p-phenylene) based Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) for Use in Vandium Redox Flow battery |
초록 |
Hydrocarbon-based anion exchange membranes (AEM) have been considered as one of the promising electrolytes for vanadium redox flow battery. However, typically, hydrocarbon-based anion exchange membranes display poor chemical stability due to the presence of V5+, which is a strong oxidizing agent in the VRFB system. Therefore, our group designed a robust AEM without aryl ether bonds to improve chemical stability and long-term durability. Herein, a series of poly(p-phenylene)s containing a quaternary ammonium group or imidazolium group were synthesized via Ni(0)-catalyzed coupling polymerization, benzylic bromination and in situ amination, successively. In particular, the chemical stability and VRFB performance of the synthesized membranes based on poly(p-phenylene) with different functional groups were investigated. |
