제목 Modification of Hydroxyapatite Nano-Surfaces for Enhanced Interfacial Adhesion in HAp/Poly(ε-caprolactone) Nano-Composites
초록 The use of hydroxyapatite (HAp) nano-crystals has gained an expanding interest in the fabrication of artificial bone-like ceramic/polymer composites. Of many factors determining the properties of composites, the affinity between inorganic HAp and organic polymer phases is significant in that the good interfacial adhesion can result in the enhanced mechanical properties of the composites. In this work, we aimed to modify the HAp nano-surface with more reactive hydroxyl groups for effective grafting polymerization of ε-caprolactone (CL) and also describe the effectiveness of PCL-grafted HAp in enhancing mechanical properties of HAp/PCL nano-composites. PCL-grafted HAp contributed to the improved tensile strength and toughness of the nano-composites. Acknowledgement.
