제목 Artificial Bone Substitute Composed of MegaGen Synthetic Bone andHA-Cystamine hydrogels for Guided Bone Regeneration
초록 A novel artificial bone substitute composed of MegaGen synthetic bone(MGSB) and hyaluronate-cystamine(HA-Cys) hydrogel was successfully developed for guided bone regeneration. Because HA, which is osteo-conductive, plays an important role in bone regeneration, HA-Cys hydrogel was designed to supply HA continuously for efficient bone regeneration by its controlled degradation in vivo. Biphasic MGSB composed of hydroxyapatite and β-tricalcium phosphate(β-TCP) was synthesized by chemical precipitation method and characterized by SEM and X-ray diffraction. In order to assess guided bone regenerability, MGSB and HA-Cys microhydrogels were mixed and implanted to the critical bone defects in vivo. After 4 weeks, MGSB/HA-Cys hydrogels showed excellent performance in osteo-conduction and bone regeneration. The controlled degradation of HA-Cys hydrogels was thought to contribute for guided bone regeneration by continuous provision of osteo-conductive HA.
