In the present situation where various kinds of pathogenic bacteria acquire multidrug resistance and the number of them is increasing, a multifaceted effort is underway to control them. However, the development speed of new antibiotics is significantly lower than the generation rate of multidrug resistant bacteria. In order to treat infections / contamination of multidrug resistant bacteria and highly resistant phenotypic bacteria, a new approach different from current antibiotic action mechanism is required. In order to overcome the limitations of conventional antibiotics, the development of antimicrobial peptides (AMP) has been actively pursued along with the development. Recent research trends to overcome this problem have been carried out to develop molecular nano-machines with the ability to open cell membranes. However, since it is not a fundamental solution, much research needs to be conducted in the future. |
