제목 Synthesis of Stimuli-responsive Nanofiber Scaffolds with Nanoscale Anisotropy for Advanced Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering
초록 Stimuli responsive polymer-based architectures having anisotropic compartments have been recently developed as smart materials because they are capable of switching polymer conformation via environmental triggers while having discrete compartments. In this study, a new class of smart nanofiber scaffolds with chemically distinct compartments was prepared via electrohydrodynamic (EHD) co-jetting with side by side needle geometry. Stable biphasic Taylor cone was maintained during EHD co-jetting, resulting in highly distinct compartments with negligible inter-compartmental diffusion. These nanofibers have thermally-responsive, physically crosslinked compartment and chemically-crossslinked one at nanoscale, respectively. Each compartment could be loaded with different drugs for controlled release kinetics by stimuli-triggered, anisotropic nano-actuation. These nanofiber scaffolds could be useful as smart drug delivery reservoirs and tissue engineering scaffolds.
