Collagen hydrogel is attractive material for biomedical-applications from wound healing patch or lenses to cell culture substrate because of high-water content, flexible and biocompatible properties. However, due to a structural limitation of hydrogel, controlled drug release from hydrogel is still remained in challenging work. In this presentation, we have functionalized collagen hydrogels in three simple ways for controlled drug release. We prepared collagen hydrogels by changing concentrations, incorporation of barrier objects: graphene oxide and covered nano-films. Sustained drug release mechanism is obtained by with the content of collagen in hydrogel is increased. More dramatic sustained release properties are attained in accordance with ratio of graphene oxide with collagen and number of polyelectrolyte multilayer films. As a result, we successfully fabricated controlled drug release hydrogel platforms within simple treatments. |
