제목 | Synthesis of permalloy (Fe-Ni) nano-sheets through sono-electrochemical method and its magnetic properties |
초록 | Permalloy(Ni80-Fe20), is commercially used throughout the world as a magnetic core material. Since permalloy has high permeability and low coercivity, it is also used as a magnetic shielding material. Magnetic shielding for permalloy acts not as a blockage to the magnetic field but as an attraction of magnetic fields to provide path for the magnetic fields around the shielded volume. Electrodeposition is known for its simple and economic friendly way to produce alloys. With the practice of electrodeposition, a wide range of property can be observed with different parameters. Therefore, using the electrodeposition technique, permalloy films were fabricated. Sonication has a wide scope of application including acceleration of dissolution and surface cleansing. However, in this study, we use sonic generator as an instrument to detach the plated permalloy from substrate to produce nanosheets. To easily detach the permalloy off the substrate, we used chloride baths which compared to sulfate baths create more internal stress on the material. Also, we plated permalloy onto a titanium substrate to decrease the adhesion between the substrate and the alloy. Instruments such as SEM (scanning electron microscope) and EDS (Energy dispersive spectroscopy) were used to examine the surface morphology, thickness and concentration gradient of the permalloy. Also, VSM (vibrating sample magnetometer) was operated to investigate the magnetic properties of permalloy in different alignment. |
