제목 Crystallization Kinetics and Crystalline Morphology of Poly(L-lactic Acid)s with Different d-isomer Contents under Varying Isothermal Melt-Crystallization Conditions
초록 Crystallization behavior and piezoelectricity of poly(l-lactic acid)s is known to be affected by the content of d-isomer. In this study, two different poly(l-lactic acid) samples (4032D and 2003D with a d-lactide content of 1.4 and 4.3 wt.-%, respectively) were subjected to melt-crystallization at varying isothermal temperatures and their crystallization kinetics and morphology were studied using the transmitted light intensity and microscopic images as a function of time under the cross-polarization, respectively. Though a typical lamellar splay type spherulite was observed in both samples, the 4032D sample showed spherulites having clearer Maltese cross pattern and brighter image at the same crystallization condition. The overall crystallization rate and radial growth rate of the 4032D sample were faster than the 2003D sample. More details will be discussed.
