제목 | Intestinal mucosa-mimetic hydrogel matrix for encapsulation of dendritic cells |
초록 | Intestine plays an important role in human immune system and is related to various diseases. In particular, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is caused by irregular immune response in intestinal immune microenvironment (IIME), in which immune cells (e.g., dendritic cell (DC), macrophage, and neutrophil) recognize antigens. In spite of numerous studies, the exact pathway of IBD pathogenesis is still veiled. In this study, we proposed a hydrogel-based DC culture platform fabricated with gelatin-methacrylate and mucin mimicking mucosal structure and property. This study successfully obtained immature DCs differentiated from THP-1 monocytes and the DCs were activated in 3D by immunomodulators. Conclusively, the IIME was recapitulated by the mucosa-mimetic matrix, suggesting a promising DC culture platform in IBD researches.
