제목 | Nafion/sulfonated Polysulfone Composite Membrane for Direct Methanol Fuel Cell |
초록 | Nafion membranes show excellent properties for polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) in hydrogen fuel cells but they are not suitable for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) applications due to the high methanol permeability. To reduce the methanol crossover, Nafion membranes were modified by the coating of methanol barrier layer. In this study, we prepare and characterize recast membranes consisting of Nafion and sulfonated polysulfone. Polymer electrolyte membranes consisting of Nafion and sulfonated polysulfone were prepared by casting method. The morphology of membrane was investigated by SEM and EDAX. From the results of SEM and EDAX, it was found that the cross-sections of membranes formed the phase separated morphology. The phase separation between two membranes was manipulated by controlling the drying condition. Thermal stability of the modified membrane was increased with the increase of polysulfone content. |
