제목 | Nafion/sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) composite membrane for fuel cell |
초록 | Nafion membranes show excellent properties for polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) in hydrogen fuel cells but they are not suitable for direct methanol fuel cell applications due to the high methanol permeability. To reduce the methanol crossover, composite membrane of Nafion and sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) was used. Solution bllend of Nafion and sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) in NMP was used. The polymer electrolyte membranes were prepared by casting method. The cross-sectional morphology was investigated by SEM and EDAX. Proton conductivity, methanol permeability and other properties were also measured. All characteristics were varied with the degree of sulfonation of poly(arylene ether sulfone), blend ratio and drying condition. |
