Viologen-tethered copolymer as single electroactive layer smart window |
초록 |
A new class of electroactive organic polymer was synthesized via click chemistry. Alkyne-functionalized 3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) and azide-functionalized ethylene-glycol underwent copper-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction to yield a new copolymer which was quaternized with a viologen. This new material exhibits electrochromic property suitable for devices such as smart windows. Its electrochemical property was analyzed by cyclic voltammetry and amperometry. Its physical and thermal stability were examined by thermogravimetric analyses. Its performance was evaluated by sandwiching the new electrochromic material between two indium-tin oxide (ITO) glass. This electroactive material showed excellent electrochemical and physical and thermal stability. It also showed remarkable color switching performance in terms of reversible reduction-oxidation, coloration efficiency and response time. |
