In energy storage systems separator plays a vital role in the performance of the battery system. Separator should have sufficient porosity to absorb liquid electrolyte for the high ionic conductivity between electrodes and sustain the structure and porosity during charge discharge process. In the present study, porous PVDF/PDMS polymer blend membrane based separator loaded with a conductive Bis (trifluoromethane) sulfonamide lithium salt (LTFSI) were prepared using glycerol as co-solvent. The structure, morphology and mechanical property of the synthesized polymer blend membranes were determined using various techniques such as XRD, XPS, FE-SEM, FTIR, TGA, BET and liquid electrolyte uptake study. The electrochemical studies like galvanostatic charge discharge and EIS studies were carried by fabricating 2032 type coin cells using Li metal as counter and reference electrode in an Argon filled glove box for application in Lithium ion batteries. |
