제목 Hollow Carbon nanofiber for Capacitive Deionization of Brackish Water
초록 Capacitive deionization (CDI) is strongly recommended as friendly environmental and economical techniques for removing dissolved ions from saline water. In this work, Hollow carbon nanofiber (HCNFs) as highly efficient electrode for CDI unit were prepared using co-axial electrospinning of PMMA (core) and PAN (shell) polymer solutions followed by oxidative stabilization then carbonization. The morphology, pore size and electrochemical performance were characterized by SEM, TEM, N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms and cyclic voltammetry. The synthesized HCNFs electrodes have greater electrosorption properties and higher specific capacitance compared to known carbon materials used as CDI electrode such as rGO and CNFs. Furthermore, it exhibit excellent desalination behavior and better cycling ability which are attributed to the introduced hollow structure as additional surface can easily uptake more salt ions. The HNCFs electrode is confirmed to be promising materials for CDI electrodes.
