Due to the Cesium ion is one of the dangerous material which has radioactivity, many researchers have tried to remove the cesium ion from the environment. The Cesium ion can may cause the cancer and diseases of the liver, intestine, heart, and kidneys. Despite there are various material forms to remove the cesium such as particle, fiber mat, tube, it is hard to use the materials in practical cesium removal process because the materials couldn’t be separated easily after removal process. Herein, we introduce advanced cesium capturing material based on magnetic hydrogel micro particle. The micro-particles were fabricated using micro-emulsification and reduction process of the Poly (vinyl alcohol) and Fe ion. And then, in order to increase the cesium capturing efficiency, a Prussian blue (PB) was grown on the surface of the micro particle using addition of ferrocyanide. The obtained micro-particles had higher cesium removing efficiency than general PB nano particle. |
