The macroscale material properties are originated from each colloidal material property on microscale. However, the macroscale properties prediction has deviation because of heterogeneity of colloidal particles. Colloidal particles have strong electrostatic repulsion in fluid-fluid interface (i.e., oil-water interface) which are compared that they are located in single fluid medium (i.e., water). Dipole-dipole interaction contributes the strong electrostatic repulsions that decay as r-4, where r is the center-center separation between the particles. In this work, we quantitatively investigate the interaction heterogeneity of various types of colloidal particles and salt dependence at the oil-water interface using optical laser tweezers. |
