The pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) were prepared based on acrylic copolymers which were synthesized by solution polymerization of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, and acrylic acid with AIBN as an initiator. Carbon nanotubes were modified by oxidation with acid. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy was used to identify the -OH and -COOH groups on the carbon nanotube surface. Ultraviolet-curable acrylic copolymer was capable of uniform mixing with the functionalized carbon nanotubes. Thermal stability of ultraviolet-curable PSAs was investigated depending on the content of modified carbon nanotubes with thermogravimetric analyzer. The adhesive characteristics of ultraviolet-curable PSAs containing carbon nanotubes were investigated in terms of peel strength, cohesiveness and probe tack. |
