제목 Synthesis of transition metal-based catalyst for conversion of 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid for fine chemicals.
초록 The conversion of renewable biomass to fuels and value-added chemicals has attracted much interest. A base-free catalytic method containing WO3/SiO2/TBHP/DMSO for the oxidation of 5-hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) under very mild conditions with very good conversion 85 and 73% (FDCA) yield has been reported. In this study, a green protocol and higher FDCA yield are achieved under specific optimised conditions. The catalyst is highly stable during the reaction process. Additionally, it shows good reusability in the oxidation reaction without much loss in the catalytic activity. Material characterization was carried out using XRD, RAMAN, SEM, and TPD measurements.
