Controlled Release of Quetiapine Hemifumarate by Wet Granulation with Various Polymers |

Quetiapine(QT) structured as clozapine or olanzapine dibenzothiazepine derivatives are relevant and effective as anti-psychotic medication. In this study prepared sustained-release tablets of QT by using wet granulation method. Wet granulation tablets were formulated with the various polymers. DSC and XRD were used to analyze both the amorphous and of wet granulation. FT-IR was used to analyze chemical structure of molecule between QT and polymer. The in vitro release behavior of wet granulation presented intestinal juice (pH 6.8). The in vitro test showed sustained-release of QT granule tablet. This study suggests sustained-release of granule QT tablet with polymer, and QT using wet granulation method can be able to improve the bioavailability.
