제목 Dissolution Rate Improvement of Olmesartan Medoxomil Using Water Soluble Polymer and Comparison Dissolution Rate by Excipient
초록 Olmesartan medoxomil is a selective angiotensin typeII 1 receptor (AT1R) antagonist. Bioavailability is about 26%. We demonstrated the release behavior of the olmesartan from contents of F-Melt (Type C), calcium phosphate dibasic, potato starch, MCC, n-mannitol and lactose. These mixtures were prepared by granulation method and tablets were prepared using the direct compression method. The characterization of olmesartan and mixtures was analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). SEM was used to confirm the morphology of drug, carrier, excipient, and mixtures. FT-IR was used to analyze the change in chemical structure of the olmesartan and mixtures. The dissolution study was conducted to find the characterization of dissolution behavior of the olmesartan in the stimulated gastric juice. In this study, the dissolution rate of olmesartan was affected by the excipient. This research was supported by WCU (R31-20029).
