Lecithin Phosphatidylethanolamine/Hyperbranched Polyglycidol Hybrid Micelles for Drug Delivery System |

ABSTRACT: Amphiphilic lipid layer micelles which consist of a novel lecithin phosphatidylethanolamine (PE)/hyperbranched polyglycidol (HBP) was fabricated and explored as a controlled drug delivery system. Based on the ring-opening multi-branching polymerization principle, glycidol was polymerized onto PE macroinitiators. Lecithin PE/ HBP micelle was fabricated by self assembly method using solubility difference between lecithin PE and HBP toward solvents. Micelles which have different ratio of lecithin PE and HBP were fabricated depending on molecular weight of HBP. As HBP molecular weight was growing, hydrophilicity of the micelle was increased. The average diameter and zeta potential of micelles were determined using dynamic light scattering analyzer. The morphologies of micelles were observed by transmission electron microscope (TEM). Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques (NMR) were used to characterize each product. |
