A study on the Confinement of Salt Hydrate PCM into the Electrospinned Microfibers |

Inorganic salt hydrates are estimated as the most suitable energy storage medium among several types of PCMs due to their low cost and higher latent heat, although they show the problem of phase separation with cycled uses. The encapsulation of salt hydrate is essential for the broad application of PCM as well as the escape from the phase separation. In this study, is selected the imbedding of salt hydrate into the microfiber for the microencapsulation of PCMs. Strong hydrophilic salt hydrate was dispersed in continuous hydrophobic polymer solution with inverse emulsification method followed by the electrospinning of the emulsion. The confined PCM particles in microfibers are investigated in their morphology and thermal behavior. |
