Preparation and electrochemical characterization of polymer electrolyte based on electrospun poly(acrylonitrile) nonwoven membranes for lithium polymer batteries |

Polymer electrolytes (PEs) are well adapted to various geometries because of their advantages in providing lighter and safer batteries. Among many of the polymers PVdF and its copolymer P(VdF-HFP) have been found to be very promising and electrospinning technique is used as an easy method to prepare polymer membranes. Electrospun membranes of poly(acrylonitrile ) (PAN) was also prepared. The PEs shows high electrolyte uptake (>395%) and ionic conductivity (>2x10-3 S/cm). Prototyped coin cell with PE based on a membrane were evaluated for discharge capacity and cycle property in Li/PE/LiFePO4 cells at room temperature. It is observed that the cell have remarkably good cycle performance with high initial discharge properties. |
