The electrochemical performance of pitch-based activated carbon fibers anode in lithium ion capacitor |

In this work, we studied the electrochemical performance of the pitch-based activated carbon fibers (ACFs) prepared by steam activation at different temperatures. The elemental composition of the surface of the ACFs was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The specific surface area and micropore volumes of the ACFs were investigated using the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) equation respectively under nitrogen and argon. Electrochemical measurements were performed in a three-electrode system using the cyclic voltammetry (CV). The experimental results indicated that the physical activation increased the specific surface area of ACFs. |
