Controlled ROMP of TD monomer for the synthesis of well-defined polymer |

Ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) is one of the most popular polymerization technique for the synthesis of well-defined polymers with diverse functionalities. However, still there are many challenges to improve the structural complexity and introduce new functional monomers. This work describes the synthesis of polymers having well-defined structures by controlled ROMP and possible features as a nano-sized material; From the conformation control of dendronized polymer to the synthesis of gradient copolymer and controlled ROMP of TD even with slow initiating Hoveyda-Grubbs catalyst. Those results were possible because of faster initiation but slower propagation rate of TD monomer compare with NB monomer. All the polymer single-chain structure were analyzed by MALLS analysis and visualized by AFM imaging technique. |
