제목 Enhanced molecular sieving carbon membranes rendered from two-step pyrolizing process
초록 Carbon molecular sieve membranes (CMSMs) are very promising materials in the field of gas separation, both in terms of separation properties (permeability and selectivity) and stability (thermal and chemical). Until now, various polymeric precursors were attempted to obtain higher performance CMSM membranes. Here, we introduced another class of polymeric precursors, hydroxyl containing polyimide (HPIs). These polymers can easily be fabricated thermal imidization method. After then, HPIs were rearranged to more rigid polybenzoxazoles(PBOs) at near 450 oC proposed by many researchers. This thermal rearrangement reaction can make high microcavity in polymer matrix by CO2 evolution during these temperature ranges. After PBO conversion process, they were pyrolyzed up to 600 and 800 oC during 1 h. Gas separation performance of CMSMs rendered by two-step pyrolyzing process were tested by constant volume time-lag method in addition to various thermal and mechanical characterization method.
