In the past several years there has been increasing interest in conducting polymer nanostructures owing to their unique properties and potential applications as substitute for carbon nanomaterials, sensor, and electronic device. However, most studies on conducting polymer nanostructures have focused on the fabrication of 1-dimensional and 0-dimensional structures. In this study, we report, for the first time, on the conducting polymer hexagonal microplates with highly ordered structure and high electrical conductivity. Moreover, the self-assembly process of conducting polymer nanostructures provided here is strikingly different from the traditional processes such as template-synthesis and template-free synthesis. Polypyrrole hexagonal microplates made up of cobweb-like nanowires with 100 nm in average diameter by this process were surprisingly fabricated in imitation of salt crystal form of doping agent. |
