Novel High Performance RO Membranes Having 3-D Nano Network Structure |
초록 |
Our research is aiming at developing a new next-generation reverse osmosis (RO) membrane for seawater desalination which can replace the existing RO membranes based on polyamides. New membrane materials exhibiting high durability, chemical resistance, and flux will be developed through introduction of the structure of three dimensional nanoscale framework utilizing the self-assembly and chemical reactions of new monomers with controlled 3-d geometry. In order to control nano-porosity of the membrane, organic materials with 3-d nano lattice structures derived from tetraphenylmethane(TPM) derivatives were newly developed. The new materials are expected to offer the RO performances superior to the polyamide composite membranes which need to be improved in chemical resistance and flux to meet global demands for water in the future. |
