제목 Hollow Nanostructured Polypyrrole Electrode Materials : Toward Superior Electrochemical Stability
초록 A variety of electrode materials have been explored for developing high-performance energy devices. Conducting polymers have tunable electrical conductivity and physicochemical properties, which also depend on their morphology and microstructural properties. Thus, considerable research effort has been made to control the size and morphology of conducting polymers especially at the nanoscale. Here, we present the fabrication of metal-decorated polyprrole nanocapsules which provide strong potential for use as pseudocapacitive electrode materials with excellent redox activity. The specific capacitance of polypyrrole was found to be as high as 325 F/g, which was approximately two times larger than that of solid nanospheres. It is important to note that the nanocapsule structure served a cage effect to prevent metal ion leaching during charge/discharge cycle, thus leading to enhanced long-term cycling stability.
