Next-generation power sources such as fuel cell, Li-ion battery and zinc-air battery are attracted due to they are promising energy supply sources for portable electronic devices and electronic vehicles, due to they have advantages which high energy density and green chemistry. Especially, direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) has additional advantages such as convenient refueling system and ambient operation conditions. However, many problems still remain for the commercialization of the DMFC system as a portable power source which is involved in electro-catalyst for anode and cathode. In generally, the catalyst in anode and cathode is platinum and that is a very expensive element, so increasing of platinum catalytic activity or finding non-precious metal catalyst for fuel cell are needed.In the present work, we discuss about the synthesis of OMCs, and their effects on the catalyst activity and stability in acid electrolyte condition as well as on the performance of the DMFC cathode reaction. |
