Mechanistic Possibilities for Non-Precious Metal/Nitrogen Doped Carbons As Catalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction |
| 초록 |
Our work presents initial steps toward understanding how the oxygen reduction reaction occurs when an iron based/nitrogen doped catalyst is used. Nitrogen and iron were doped onto a graphitic carbon support and its electrochemical and physical characteristics were analyzed with tools such as a three electrode half-cell, XRD, and XPS. In addition, experiments changing the order in which iron and nitrogen were doped were also done to determine what synergistic effects may be present between nitrogen, iron, and or the carbon support. |
