Organic light-emitting diodes are a major driving force of the current information display revolution due to their low power consumption and potentially long operational lifetime. A series of 4 novel blue phosphorescent dopants, namely, Ir(dmp)3, Ir(dmp-Me)3, Ir(dmp-CF3)3 and Ir(dmp-OMe)3 : dmp = 3-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)imidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridine, dmp-Me = 3-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-7-methylimidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridine, dmp-CF3 = 3-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-7-(trifluoromethyl)imidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridine, and dmp-OMe = 3-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-7-methoxyimidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridine have been designed and synthesized. Multi-layer phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes using Ir complexes Ir(dmp)3, Ir(dmp-Me)3, Ir(dmp-CF3)3 and Ir(dmp-OMe)3 as the triplet emitters and mCBP (3,3-di(9H-carbazol-9-yl)biphenyl) as the host have been fabricated. The device based on Ir(dmp-Me)3 as an emitter shows a stable lifetime greater than 120 h at 2000 cd/m2 (LT70). |
