Biomineralization of Synthetic Hydrogel Scaffolds for 3-Dimensional Bonelike Composites |
초록 |
Biomimetic synthetic approaches have been widely employed to develop bonelike composite materials with improved mechanical properties and enhanced biocompatibility. In this work, using a biomineralization approach, we develop synthetic organic-inorganic composites based on PEG-based hydrogels containing phosphate anionic ligands as apatite nucleators. We employed the urea-mediated solution precipitation technique for biomineralization of hydrogels. The apatite grown on the surface and interior of the hydrogels was similar to biological apatities. With increasing the content of phosphate groups, the apatite formation was found to be more effective. The evaluation of mineralized hydrogel composites for cell adhesion and proliferation are under way. Acknowledgement.
