Colloidosomes(CS) are hollow capsules whose shell is composed of closely packed uniform colloidal particles. One of their unique properties is that the permeability for encapsulated materials could be controlled through variation of the dimensions of the colloidal particles. This permeability of colloidosomes makes them suitable for a wide variety of applications in pharmaceutics, food technology and the cosmetics industry. Herein we introduced the poly(vinyl amine) (PVAm) particles as a shell material for making the pH-responsive CS. Firstly, the uniform micro-sized PVAm particles were synthesized by hydrolysis from poly(N-vinylformamide) (PNVF) particles on basic condition. And then, CS were simply prepared in oil-in-water (O/W) system. The morphology of the PVAm particles and CS were observed by optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). |
