Preparation of Core-Shell Nanoparticles Based on Chitosan-Bovine Serum Albumin for Drug Delivery |

A facile method has been developed for preparing nanoparticles with core-shell structure based on chitosan-bovine serum albumin. The method involves a heat-gelation process to produce the bovine serum albumin core and the chitosan shell. In this study, we investigated the effect of some experimental parameters on the formation of the core-shell structure and the loading condition of doxorubicin into the nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were characterized by Zeta-potential measurements and TEM to prove the formation of core-shell structure. FTIR and fluorescence spectroscopic results confirmed the encapsulation of doxorubicin in the nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were found to be stable in a wide range of pH and the size of the nanoparticles showed a pH response property. The nanoparticles exhibited a good stability under physiological conditions and can be applied as a carrier for drug delivery. |
