Due to pandemics, multi-purpose facilities implemented regular disinfection. This disinfection eliminates not only certain pathogens but also all microorganisms present indoors. It is not known how the changed indoor environment will affect health and quality of life in humans. This study analyzed the changes in bacterial and fungal commnuities in school classrooms and outdoors in Korea, after disinfection, and the interrelationship of various factors affecting bacterial and fungal commnuities. As a result, indoor disinfection reduced the species and abundance of indoor fungal communities, while indoor humidity was positively correlated with indoor fungal communities. In the case of bacteria, the indoor disinfection cycle was not interrelated with the bacterial communities, but it was highly interrelated with the number of people in the classroom. |
