Phase Behaviors of Polymeric Surfactants: incompressibility, free space, and charge |
| 초록 |
Polymeric surfactants such as block copolymers with covalently jointed dissimilar components exhibit phase separation on a nanoscale to reveal thermally stable or metastable nanostructures. Physics underneath those behaviors is studied using Edwards’s Gaussian thread approach in connection with or without a molecular free volume theory. We discuss morphology development after nanophase separation, in particular, some new bicontinuous structures. A theoretical method for adding charges to systems of our interest is introduced. Its implications for material design is considered. |
