제목 | Impact of triplet energy level of the host materials on the efficiency of electrophosphorescent device |
초록 | By employing triplet-based phosphorescent dye in small molecule- and polymer-based LEDs where both singlet and triplet excited states participate, the internal efficiency can reach as high as 100%.1,2 The HOMO and LUMO energy levels of host and guest are very important to take place energy transfer from host to dopant. Thus, the combination of host and guest is very important for fabricating efficient device.3,4,5,6,7,8 For the electrophosphorescent device, the triplet energy level of the host and guest should be carefully considered either. The triplet energy level of the host materials should be higher than that of guest since triplet exciton of phosphorescence guest (e.g. green- to blue-emitting materials) should not be transferred to host material. In this presentation, we will report synthesis, photo-physical properties of new organic and polymeric host materials for devices based on green- to blue emitting phosphorescent materials. In addition, the importance of the host materials to improve the device efficiency will be discussed. 1. M. A. Baldo, M. E. Thompson, and S. R. Forrest, Nature (London) 403, 750 (2000). 2. C.
